As you can see from the photos in this portfolio, Michael and Isis are not the young, thin, glamorous people that we are taught to associate with sex appeal. But the power of their lusty joy, their obvious pleasure in being sexual, and their loving appreciation of each other is, I think, undeniable.
I was delighted when Michael and Isis came up to me during a photo show in San Francisco and asked if I was looking for new couples to photograph. The truth is that I’m always looking for new people to photograph for my ongoing Loving Couples project, but I was particularly pleased to be talking to Michael, age 61, and Isis, age 59.
